Family Summer Perennial Kitchen Forest Party Gravel Winter Vegetable Wild

At Our Garden, we believe every garden tells a story — and we help bring that story to life.

Gardens take many forms. They can be lively family spaces, productive places for growing vegetables, settings for entertaining and gathering, or quiet retreats shaped by a range of planting styles. Whether in a city street, a suburban development, or a rural landscape, a garden can offer calm, joy, and connection, responding to the rhythms of everyday life.

Every garden we create is shaped by its setting and by how it will be used. Grounded in sustainability and thoughtful craftsmanship, our designs embrace a wide range of styles — from structured and contemporary to naturalistic and wild — always rooted in place, climate, and the people who will care for and enjoy them. For us, a garden is more than plants and pathways; it is a living, evolving space where connection, creativity, and growth can flourish together.

“Gardening is an active dialogue with living material. It is about where and who we are, regardless of conventions”

Erik A.de Jong, On the Necessity of Gardening

Planting Plans

Our Planting Plans are tailored to shape the perfect natural setting for your garden—whether you’re envisioning a complete redesign or simply enhancing an existing space.

    • Discovery, Creative Brief & Analysis: Through our Creative Brief and Site Analysis process, we find out about you, listen to your vision and study the unique character of your space — its light, soil, and setting. This is where ideas take root, ensuring the design grows from both your personality and lifestyle and the spirit of the garden itself.

    • Design: Building on our discussion we create a Concept Design that resonates with the Creative Brief and Analysis. This is a collaboration, so your feedback will be essential to reach an agreed scheme. Then we move onto layout and specification and present you with Mood Boards, Planting Plans and more technical information.

    • Bring the Design to Life: Depending on the project we can implement the design in-house, making sure the soil prep, plant supply and placement are carried out to the highest standards. Where a landscaper is required we can support you in finding a landscaper and be involved in overseeing the implementation of the design, making sure the end results reflect your goals.

    • Care Plan: We leave you with a plan on how to best look after your plants in the months and years to come, as they grow and evolve.

  • Price starts at £600

Full Design

Our Full Design 8-stage process will guide you through every stage of your project, from Concept Design to Completion.

  • Stage 1-4

    1. Discovery & Briefing: (initial consultation - associated fee)

Through our discovery and briefing process we find out about you, listen to your vision and aspirations and carefully consider the personal use and practical functional requirements of the space. We give a precursory look at the land and consider the aspirations with the realities of the site. From this we write up a brief and a proposal along with a fee structure and outline of the deign process. Once this is agreed we move onto Stage 2.

    1. Site Survey & Analysis

Site survey and analysis is one of the most critical stages in the design process. It ensures that every creative decision is grounded in real, practical understanding of the site. To do this we arrange a professional land survey from a third party to ascertain; topography, boundaries, existing features (trees, patios, structures), underground utilities, and drainage patterns. We additionally analyse the soil, existing vegetation, light levels, orientation, weather, geology, circulation and key views as well as any historical and social context of the area. This creates a base plan that summarises the character of the garden from which to work from.
